Executive Director Employment Opportunity

The Staunton Augusta County First Aid and Rescue Squad, Inc is seeking an Executive Director.  The Executive Director is responsible for coordinating daily operations, business matters of the squad, ensuring that services provided are in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, protocols and standards of care and quality.  Primary purpose of the Executive Director is to provide overall managerial direction to and assure, with the appropriate fiscal constraints, the efficient operation of the Staunton Augusta County First Aid and Rescue Squad, Inc.  Developing strong community relationships and partnerships with other agencies and organizations, with the Cities, Counties, and Statewide.   The successful candidate must have the ability to operate and plan beyond immediate pressures, remain focused and have a strong commitment to the effectiveness and efficiency of the Staunton Augusta County First Aid and Rescue Squad, Inc.

Other Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and oversees daily operations
  • Preparation of grants and reports
  • Oversees personnel matters: hiring, training, mentoring, observe and evaluate employee performance
  • Expected to lead process improvement supporting implementation of technology, innovation, and quality assurance
  • Provides direction on facility, vehicle, and equipment maintenance
  • Set departmental policy and procedure,
  • Develops program goals and objectives
  • Develops and manages the budget through monitoring expenditures, forecasting funds and identifying grant sources
  • Oversees the investigation of internal and or external complaints or performance issues
  • Ensures compliance with established rules and regulations
  • Represents the Staunton Augusta County First Aid and Rescue Squad, Inc. City, County, and Statewide
  • Provides information and assistance to other agencies and organizations

Requirements

  • Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Healthcare, Emergency Medical Services or related areas; or the equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Emergency Medical Service experience required (EMS)
  • Minimum of 2 years of Supervisory/management experience preferred
  • Must possess current certification as a Paramedic
  • Must have an overall good driving record and Current EVOC certification, Class 2
  • Demonstrate a mastery of leadership, management, and interdisciplinary coordination
  • Strong financial analysis and programmatic development
  • Must be familiar with non-profit regulations 
  • Ability to communicate using various verbal, auditory, and written formats
  • Must have the physical and mental aptitude to handle EMS job related responsibilities
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft platforms, and telecommunications to include Zoom, WebEx, and Teams. 
  • Must have the ability to travel statewide, as needed, to attend EMS related functions or meetings
  • Must be able to adhere to a strict professional code of conduct
  • Ability to pass a drug and alcohol testing
  • Successful criminal background check
